{ PAST. PRESENT. FUTURE. }
"The journey doesn't matter as long as you end up in the same place that you wanted to be."
FRESHMAN YEAR:
I barely remember anything from freshman year. Probably, because nothing significant happened. I was still trying to figure out who I was, who I wanted to be and the direction I wanted to put my life in. Because of this, I didn't get the best of grades. I didn't think I was going to college, so I didn't see a point in it. That is my biggest regret in high school. If I had a time machine, this would definitely be the year I would go back to, just so I could do it all over again. I would've tried so much harder if i had known the plans I was going to have for myself. SOPHOMORE YEAR: This was the year I finally got on track. We had an assignment in Mrs. Issacs class to pick a college, a major and write a research paper. I picked the University of Cincinnati and psychology. I've always been drawn to anything to do with psychology for some reason. I loved helping people and problem solving. I chose UC because it was the only college I was at least a little bit familiar with. I had never visited a college site before and it intrigued me, extremely. College wasn't any thing like the picture that was stuck in my head. It was exciting, challenging and a new start. That was the day I stopped being average. |

JUNIOR YEAR:
This was the year where being average became unacceptable to me. On the second day of school, I remember Mr. McOwen calling me up to his desk after we had turned in our psychology notes from the night before. He asked me if I usually received good grades, because of how good my notes were. I responded, "No, but I'm going to." That's exactly what I did too. I found my dream college this year (Miami University) and I started working even harder than I had ever imagined. Since my junior year, I have received a 3.8 GPA every trimester. My junior year I also joined Upward Bound and attended a seven week long program at UCC over the summer. At the end of the program I took a trip to Chicago with everyone in it. My junior year has probably been my favorite so far. SENIOR YEAR: This year has been a roller-coaster ride. All the plans and dreams I thought I had have been changed or at least postponed. Sometimes life throws you a curve ball and you have to learn how to adjust to it. I'm still trying to do that. |
